The undergraduate programmes of Lincoln University College have been created in a unique way to give students the most freedom possible. The programmes will give students a solid foundation and in-depth understanding of the globe, allowing them to pursue intriguing job prospects. The students will gain critical thinking, analytical, logical, and presentation abilities because of these courses, allowing them to construct a successful profession. We are currently running the following courses successfully under this faculty:

1. Bachelor of Islamic Studies (Hons)

The Islamic Studies is a part of a moderate arts programme offered at undergraduate level at this University. Islamic Studies attempts to revise the whole range of Islamic civilization and culture. Its main interests include, beside the religion of Islam, topics such as the socio-economic structure, military, administration, development of various sciences and thought, cultural life, cosmology, mysticism, literature and fine arts, and many other aspects of Islamic civilization. It provides students a prospect to revise the expansion of Islamic history, civilization and culture from an interdisciplinary perspective. Students will gain insight about the understanding of key areas associated with Islamic Studies such as the foundation texts, early and modern history, philosophical and political thought, Muslim societies in majority and minority contexts, unity, and diversity, as well as ethnicity and identity. The University offers an extensive range of disciplines with flexible study patterns that meet the academic needs and interests of the students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

2. Bachelor of Psychology

The Bachelor of Psychology program provides a basic knowledge and skills required to understand the behavior of both individual and groups, which is necessary to influence the way educators, policy makers and the community surveyor work about mental health and the workings of the human mind. Students incorporate and integrate comprehensive education in basic areas, including development of understanding of social, cognitive, biological, and abnormal psychology among individuals. The program teaches the associations between the brain and behavior, the processes that determine speech, create, and keep memories or respond to stress. The Bachelor of Psychology programme curriculum focuses on developing an understanding of key theoretical concepts and on practicing skills associated with the areas of assessment and counselling. Practical application of the knowledge and skills will be demonstrated in projects reflected at both the personal and professional level.

3. Bachelor of Education (Teaching of English as a Second Language - TESL)

The Bachelor of Education (Teaching of English as Second Language -TESL) programme is designed to give students, the academic and technical skills in broad areas. The programme combines the precise training in methods of teaching English and practice with the analytical tools of education. It teaches students a wide range of skills that are valuable for careers in government schools, private schools, and international educational organizations. The programme is designed as a transformative program, which offers students, the education, training, and first-hand experience which are essential for successful international careers. The programme trains the students for current and future leadership responsibilities with the development of systematic understanding, decision making and communication skills.

4. Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication (Honours)

The programme presents to the students an interdisciplinary basis on the theory and skills essential to develop into media practitioners and more informed media consumers. The student through this course will gain real world experience in the mass media professions. The graduates will achieve a variety of careers openings related to media field, including advertising, corporate communication, public relations, journalism, and broadcasting. As a result, students interested in graduate studies in this field can also opt for advanced studies in various fields across the country. This course will train the students to survive in the rapidly expanding world of media and corporate communication by teaching technological skills and knowledge for work in corporate media and communication fields, in addition to the understanding of matters related to media, communication and information.

5. Bachelor of Fashion Management (Hons)

The course is planned for students who are highly engrossed in business, business numeracy and quantitative skills and management within the perspective of the fashion industry. This means that they will not only be familiar with all that there is to know about the world of business in relation to fashion and retailing but will also enlarge a strong grab of several other relevant areas such as accounting, finance, economics, and operations. The course will furnish the students with the relevant professional, academic, communication and business skills to tackle these challenges and exploit any opportunities. As part of the course BSc (Hons) Fashion Management students will build up the necessary skills to manipulate data and to evaluate, estimate and represent a range of business problems, functions, and phenomena. Courses in a fashion management and marketing degree program focus on business strategies, principles of management, visual merchandising, and aspects of the fashion industry. The course concentrates on the translation of trends into commercially interesting fashion collections, the purchasing of fashion materials or products and the development of suitable sales channels (stores, showrooms, internet). Within the training the emphasis is, however, not solely placed on fashion management but also on management. The course is designed to produce highly employable graduates with a specific understanding of the fashion industry, and we encourage the understanding of fashion management theory and a critical appreciation of visual communications and digital media.

6. Bachelor of Early Childhood Education

The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education prepares graduates to work in both early childhood and primary educational contexts. The course structure provides a community and school-based approach to teacher education with substantial opportunities for students to pursue studies in early childhood education and primary school education. This professional degree qualifies them to work as a teacher in preschools and long day care as a four-year trained teacher, as well as preparing them for employment in other parts of the children’s and family services sector.

7. Diploma in Early Childhood Education

The Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) program under the Faculty of Social Science, Arts and Humanities is designed to give students’ academic and technical skills in broad areas. In recent decades, studies have shown that early childhood education is critical in preparing children to enter and succeed in the grade school, diminishing their risk of social-emotional mental health problems and increasing their self-sufficiency as adults. In Malaysia it is recognizes that the first 3 years of life are critical in the development of children and therefore must be committed to providing quality education for its youngest citizens. The program combines the precise training in methods of teaching, assessment, curriculum content, children arts and music, learning and pedagogy, health, and safety. The Diploma of Early Childhood Education (DECE) Program in Lincoln University College prepares students to become professionally trained Edu-carers and academically qualified preschool teachers who can continue their future study in Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECE) (Hons) Program. Graduates will develop skills in teaching children between 0-8 years of age. The diploma holder would be qualified to find work as educators in various subjects of science, commerce, and basic learning.

8. Diploma in Psychology

The flexibility of the basic knowledge on psychology would provide the learners to work in a variety of human service programs and agencies in a basic clinical Programme. As a graduate one can pursue a career in a variety of settings and roles ranging from a case manager to a counsellor or policymaker, in a school, hospital or private agency.

9. Diploma in Teaching English as Second Language

Diploma in Teaching English as Second Language of Lincoln University College, Malaysia (LUC) encourages students to reflect on and interpret the relation between theory and practice, to adapt new ideas and strategies to their own contexts, and to test and appraise new teaching techniques in their own classrooms. Students will be trained to solve problems logically and analytically and to think critically for every decision they make so that their decisions lead to making a positive difference in whatever profession they choose after diploma in TESL. The program provides the most current knowledge and emphasizes the skills needed for success in teaching and to pursue an advanced degree.

Postgraduate Programs

Lincoln University College’s postgraduate programmes provide a wide range of research approaches for the learning process. Students with a specialisation in human resources settings participate in the training. The programme provides students with in-depth knowledge to help them become professionals in their fields. They gain social and emotional intelligence, as well as leadership qualities, because of the training. Students are aware of cultural issues and can make decisions. Students gain a sufficient understanding of economic and social principles to apply them in relevant areas for the betterment of society. We are now successfully running the following courses under this faculty:

1. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Psychology

Doctor of Psychology (Ph.D.) is a professional doctorate degree intended to prepare graduates for practice in psychology. The Ph.D. in Psychology is a well-balanced programme designed to impart a broad base in psychology, the program also offers an opportunity for intensive research in various fields like Human behavioral science along with specialization in Foundations and Methods of Psychology, Psychological process, Communication, and evaluation of research in Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Industrial Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology and many more. The students will be able to keep abreast with current issues of Psychology studies. At every stage of learning, the students will be encouraged to invent new ideas in the field of psychology. They will be encouraged to participate in workshops, seminars, and conferences as well as to publish in referred journals. They will be able to integrate and apply the latest technology in specialized areas of Psychology to contribute to the country’s development by producing Research Scholars that fulfils requirements of both private and public sectors.

For successful completion of PhD degree in LUC, each candidate should publish minimum of Four research articles in Scopus indexed journals, with Lincoln affiliation.

2. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Social Science

The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). in social sciences is a well-balanced programme that imparts an understanding of the causes of social changes, or the relationships between individual and state. The first year of Programme will consist of compulsory course work followed by intensive research in various fields like Sustainability in Social Science, Social Anthropology, Education and Learning, Public Services, Environment and Energy, Mass Communication, Media Studies, International Relations, Decision-making in Social Science and much more. The Department also offers its researchers strong support with specific methodological issues such as comparative research design, statistical methods, and survey research. During the independent studies, the students will be encouraged to work with industry leaders, civic leaders, government leaders, governmental as well as non-governmental development agencies, the public to assure that all outcomes of their independent thinking are linked with their individual growth as well as with the betterment of the society. At every stage of learning, the students will be encouraged to invent new ideas in the field of Social Sciences. The students will be encouraged to participate in workshops, seminars, and conferences as well as to publish in refereed journals. The outcomes of the proposed programme are designed to contribute significantly towards societal outlook and environmental responsibility, improved quality of life of the population, and more importantly, towards the socio-cultural development and prosperity of the nation and its populace.

6. Master of Education

The Master of Education is a well-balanced programme designed to impart knowledge in Education along with specialization in Human Behaviour and Community organization. Individuals looking to work in the field of education but outside of the traditional classroom may opt for the specialization for more information. The programs prepare students for advanced positions in a variety of educational fields which will be not limited to the traditional K–12 classroom environment. Through flexible format of the course the student can learn their schedule easily on their own. The multimedia tools have the potential to enhance curriculum engagement that allowing students to participate in the creation outside the classroom will encourage creativity and increase excitement. The programme prepares the students to understand and formulate education policy and its practice, while developing a better understanding of contemporary issues and challenges, and future directions in the field of education. The programme is an advanced degree, both in and outside the classroom, which provides greater career options and the opportunity for a higher salary. 8. Master of Social Work

Social work is a professional and academic discipline that describes the application of social theory and research methods to study and improve the lives of people, groups, and societies. The programme deals with the fundamental knowledge of power and resources distributed in the world, and impact political decisions on societies. The purpose of the programme is to assist students to develop knowledge and skills for professional careers in international policy studies. The Programme is unique in providing professionally qualified researchers capable to lead and apply advanced development of research skills to the rapidly changing field of Psychology.

Employment of psychology is projected to grow in the next ten years, about as fast as the average for all occupations. The programme provides an excellent preparation for further psychological research. And provides a more diverse and wider field for graduates to expand in their professional development. A psychology profession will stress on disciplines that focus on offering a particular set of skills for a specific type of occupation. These types of studies will provide necessary practical knowledge and training for graduates to succeed in the chosen subject. As opposed to broader scientific studies, psychology professions focus more on practical training rather than on theory and conceptual knowledge.
